Races

Elves-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before and after humans settled upon the large continent called Nalthia, the Elves ruled its land.  Powerful, immortal, most of the enemies that the elves had to face died swifty to their blades and burnt to a crisp with their magic. Upon the 'Song of Destruction', and despite losing a good source of power, the Elves still outnumber much of the other races, even the Humans, but the destruction laid a sound blow to them.  Since then, they have become far more recluse, conversing only with each other than with the rest of the world.  They have since constructed four great kingdoms for themselves, each one standing North, South, East and West of the desert that once was their greatest city, and guard it from any danger to the world.  However, to make sure the kingdoms do not overpopulate, they have branched outwards, creating 'forts' that act as small kingdoms themselves (which ironically stand as Kingdoms that are of equal population as human Kingdoms.)
the Four Kingdoms:  Calental, Dolentaure, Ostaren'dae, Talenisul

Beastmen------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Beastmen are not a race per say, nor were they around until after the Song of Destruction.  Those who were farth away, whether they were of any race, were effected by the magic that the Magical Well created, and though they themselves did not show side effects, their children did.  Much of the creatures that were born were monstrous in nature, taking half the form of various animals that surround the natural world.  Some were thrown out, others were hidden from the world, but al together they soon became a sort of race themselves.  These Beastmen were born with their bodies, and have the ability to procreate.  The Elves believe that despite their monstrosities, they are still Natural beings and thus should live a life of their own.  There are very few in this world, but regarded with respect.  Elves have taken them in, regarding them as brother even if they don't have elvish blood.
Again, since there are so few, the Beastmen are usually found anywhere in the world, even some who took a more tribal lifestyle.

Humans---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Humans would be considered the alien part to Nalthia.  They come from a land far to the east, blocked by a great sea.  Different groups of Humans each settled on parts of the Eastern coastline, each settlement carried different cultures that conflicted with the other.  Eight settlements in all, though the events of the Song of Destruction destroyed one of the eight.  Because of this, Humans often take precausion when dealing with the other races.  Though often friend in other worlds, the Humans and the Elves often disregard each other as problems in their world.  Though no longer fighting, it's apparent that their egos often do not mix.  This does not pose as too much of a problem, as Elves have settled more west on Nalthia, save for a few stubborn Kingdoms that pose light conflicts with the Human Kingdoms today.  The Elves are further irritated by the Humans due to their life of industry.
Seven Kingdoms:
Aelbourogh, Bilhafen, Blackpuelle, Golwenerre, Hallowhal, Lathios, Stonmarsh

Dwarves--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ironically, the Dwarves were a race that the Elves had met a long time ago, though at one point, the Dwarves no longer reached the surface of the world.  Recently, due to conflict between them, Goblins and Kobolds, the dwarves had to surface due to to the wars had run much of their gold dry.  Soon, they found themselves meeting any of the other races, and sell both their goods as well as their muscle, acting as merchants and mercenaries.  A gold coin will have you a very interested dwarf.  Proud warriors, the Dwarves show that they are indeed great warrior in battle, able to handle a handful of fully armed troops alone.  Their only issue is that Dwarves will follow the highest bidder, and though they do have consciousnesses, their believe is to get the job done, and gather the gold to save their Kingdoms.
The Five Underground Kingdoms: Delerforge, Graumug, Nekutinod, Saromistrath, Udironol

Goblins----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Would you be surprised to know that the Goblins really had to qualms against the Dwarves? Unlike their dark and evil counterparts elseworlds, the Goblins are not quite that evil...mischevious, greedy and goofy at times, their own way tends to make them seem more evil than they let on.   Their greatest foe, the Kobolds, are nothing more than warriors who just walked across the line into Goblin territory...that invisible line that Kobolds wouldn't know. Goblins, in reality, are just greedy and would rather keep a gold coin than to use it...unless it's for something they wanted.  This of course meant they stole alot from the dwarves while campaigning against their Kobold foes..which in turn ended up making great enemies of the Dwarves.  After the war of the three, much like the Dwarves the Goblins surfaced.  Though the Elves and Humans find these beings often despicable, the Goblins have shown their craft to them, including technology that the Humans were more than willing to use.  Their greatest achievement?  Zepplins.  Though they need to figure out how to keep them afloat without the zepplin exploding....

Orcs--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Song of Destruction took tolls on each of the races, but no race took more of a toll than the Orcs.  Originally great and a vast force, many of the Orcs were easily persuaded by Bestalt to fight the Elves at Aulou.  Upon the destruction, it nearly lead to the Orcs extinction.  Much like the Elves, the few remaining Orcs became recluse, though unlike the Elves it wasn't out of distrust.  The Orcs had to begin a new, and needed to bolster their forces once more.  Due to both time and energy, the Orcs soon grew to a mighty force once more (though not as grand as before the 'Song'), due to both time and a lack of bloodlust, much of the Orcs lost their taste for nothing but bloodlust and became a more tribal, shamanistic force.  This does not mean they went soft.  Human Knights often agree that when facing an Orc, use a number of warriors to take them down, or use a Dwarf to face him first.  Orcs are known to be the greatest warriors of Nalthia, and some of the shamanistic abilities they were given makes them resistant to a number of magics, making them a feared force to behold.

Sca'lin-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Demons came to Nalthia, they soon realized that the Elves were far too powerful to conquer alone.  These demons created a number of beasts to try and fight the elves, though non were better than the Sca'lin.  Lizard-like in nature, the Sca'lin were a fierce force that overpowered the Elves in strength and due to their nature of fighting even after receiving mortal wounds, the Sca'lin remained a huge threat against the Elves.  The Elves were wise, though, and instead removed their demon commanders.  Since then, the Sca'lin lost some of that zeal they had once before.  Generations had past and the Sca'lin were in conflict with themselves until a few became leaders for their clans.  The Sca'lin have once more started to pose a threat to the Elves in the West, though not as fiercely.  Apparently the Sca'lin seem to be figuring out how to battle the Elves.

Kobolds---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The offspring of Dragons...at least they want to believe.  They are a race unknown to most of the world, and they seem to like to keep it that way.  They are the foe of Goblins, though even they believe that their rivalry is somewhat on the silly side.  Goblins pose as a huge threat to their people, so often enough they will fight their enemy until there's a reason not to fight them anymore.  The great war between them, the Goblins and the Dwarves, however, proved to be quite the challenge.  Much of the Kobolds found a taste to battle against the Dwarves, and only yielded because the war took a huge toll on everyone.  They were the last of the three races that finally surfaced, mostly because their eyesight could not tolerate the sun at first.  Unlike the others, the Kobolds do not sell their stuff as merchants, and often keep to themselves while on the surface. Don't be surprised by a few brigand kobold groups that are trying to steal a pretty penny, it's either that or dig aboveground for gold.

Gnolls------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Though not a race per say, they are smarter than most that would be put on the Beastiary, but not as collected as the other races above.  They are a nomadic force that enjoys to wander, fight who they like to fight, and love to eat what they want to eat.  Some often trade with the other races, though that would be rare.  In truth Gnolls are truly more like scavengers that would rather pick up weapons and armor than to buy it.
